Today I had a chance to meet one of Medha’s star students, Dibyendu Sau, at a South Kolkata cafe. Dibyendu really welcomed the opportunity to sip a cup of cappuccino evening before his NET exam. He said he prefers to chill during the evening and then study at night.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) of india for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges.

Dibyendu’s goal is to get into a good Ph.D. program by scoring high on the NET exam. He is confident that his specialization on “Soils” in his Geography Masters program will open doors for employment in the public sector as well as research opportunities.
